Summer is LONG here. Twelve weeks in unbearable heat. I knew i would need to get away, so a road trip seemed like the perfect thing.
We took two days to drive to Colorado Springs, stopping in Dumas, TX for the night. It was a painless two days--only about 7 hours each day. We stopped at the Capulin Volcano National Monument in New Mexico on Day 2. It was a quick stop but a perfect way to get a break and a walk and see something interesting (and something other than a McDonald's pit stop).
